DEGREES OF COMPARISON OF ADJECTIVES
Words that qualify (describe) nouns or pronouns are called Adjectives.
The form of the Adjective can be changed the show the extent or degree to which a certain quality is present. This difference in degree is called comparison. There are three  degrees of comparison.
1) POSITIVE DEGREE  : is the simplest form of the Adjective and shows no comparison.
Eg. I am a clever boy.
2)COMPARATIVE DEGREE: is used for comparing two things or people.
Eg. I am cleverer than Raj.
(clue : In the comparative degree, ‘than’ always follows the adjective.)
(SUPERLATIVE DEGREE : is the highest degree of quality and is used for comparing more than two things or people.
1) Eg. I am the cleverest boy in the class.(clue : In the superlative degree ‘the’ always precedes/before  the adjective)

EX. Pick the degree of comparison and state its kind.
1)Dhruv is not fatter than me.
2)My mother bakes the tastiest cakes.
3) The longest distance that Zarayus has  ever run is two kilometers.
4) The maths exam was tougher than the English exam.
5)Monique is a tall boy.
6) Arzaan is more responsible than me.
7) This trophy is most precious for me.
8) Mount Everest is the highest mountain peak in the world.
9) There are more sweets in your bag than mine.
10) That was the worst thing to do.
11) This is the least you can do to help the poor.
12)You are good boys.
13) Thankyou ! I am well now.
14) There is much you can do, if you want to.

15) The boys of Std.5D are the most intelligent boys in the school.
