                               GUIDELINES  FOR STD 5 ENGLISH PAPER 2015
                                                   FIRTST UNIT TEST                                               
DEAR PARENTS                                                                                   29/7/15

PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES GIVEN SO THAT YOU CAN PREPARE YOUR CHILD WELL FOR THE ENGLISH PAPER STD.5

  1. READ THE PROSE CHPTS.  AND THE POEM WELL.
  2. SEE THAT THEY UNDERSTAND THE CHARACTERS AND THE CENTRAL IDEA OF THE POEM OR PROSE CHPT.
  3. WORDSTUDY OR MEANINGS IS IMPORTANT SO THAT THEY CAN IDENTIFY WORDS EASILY.
  4. MAKE THEM PRACTISE FINDING RHYMING WORDS IN THE POEM.
  5. WHEN THEY ANSWER FOR COMPREHENSION POETRY THEY NEED TO WRITE THE DETAILS BUT FRAME  THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION AND NOT JUST COPY THE LINES.
  6. ANSWERS TO THE COMPREHENSION QUESTIONS MUST BE TO THE POINT.
  7. ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO ANSWER PERSONAL QUESTIONS WELL. FOR EXAMPLE  -WHAT DOES THE WORLD LOOK LIKE TO A BABY.
  8. SPELLINGS OF WORDS TO BE  PRACTISED .
  9. PRACTISE THE USE OF PUNCTUATION MARKS AND THE USE OF SMALL AND CAPITAL LETTERS.
  10. THE USE OF SUITABLE ARTICLES IS TO BE STUDIED.
  11. WHEN WRITING A PARAGRAPH THE PAPER WILL GIVE SOME HINTS TO FORM A PARAGRAPH . THEY MUST UNDERSTAND AND USE ACCORDINGLY. FOR EXAMPLE – THE PARAGRAPH MUST HAVE DESCRIBING WORDS AND NOUNS.
  12.  GRAMMAR QUESTIONS MUST BE SOLVED BY REWRITING THE SENTENCE.
FOR EXAMPLE – RAM IS A GOOD BOY.
 IDENTIFY / STATE THE PART OF SPEECH OF THE FOLLOWING UNDERLINED WORDS-
RAM- NOUN KIND PROPER NOUN
GOOD –ADJECTIVE
       13.COPY THE QUESTION NO. CORRECTLY.
       14. LET YOUR CHILD BE AWARE OF THE TIME LIMIT.
       15. ALL TEXT BACK QUESTIONS FOR PROSE AND POETRY IS 
             IMPORTANT.
